Our totally fun hands-on cooking classes all in the comfort and environment of your own home kitchen.  My approach to cooking is practical, interactive, creative and easy.

Develop culinary, skills and knowledge basic cooking and preparation techniques; knife skills through to precision cutting styles, cooking, serving of foods, ingredient appreciation, flavour building and food presentation.

Learn how to plan healthy daily and weekly menus using fresh seasonal ingredients.

Gain knowledge learn how to budget, shop efficiently safely store fresh

and cooked food and the impact it has on our environment.

As you learn to cook successfully and gain valuable life skills naturally your self-confidence will increase.

Mini Chefs in Training and Parent/Caregiver

Cost: $500 (minimum charge) for 10 Mini Chefs In Training and 10 adults, $20 for each additional

Kids Cooking World offers cooking classes that are fun and educational for you to share with your child/children a special time of how to prepare and cook food together.

kids have a great opportunity to get messy, be creative and develop their confidence our cooking classes are interactive, hands – on practical,  easy to learn, using fresh seasonal, healthy and mild tasting recipes.

While preparing  a yummy recipe, your  will learn essential life skills,  language, shapes, colours, counting, directions, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, increase their cooking skills and designed especially for budding chefs attention spans.

Shopping Centre Workshops and Fund Raisers

This cooking class provide young kids and adults an interactive and

engaging cooking experience.

Kids Cooking World will provide a perfect time to share a cooking

experience and learn basic preparation and cooking techniques with

a hands-on approach and in a totally fun environment.

Participants come along  create healthy, tasty and fun recipes and have the

opportunity to learn the etiquette, social skills and cooperation.

Learn To Cook a new skill for the Duke of Edinburgh

Cost: On application

 

"Learn To Cook" is designed for teens to young adults to meet the criteria for the Duke of Edinburgh Skills Section. If your son/daughter wants to learn to cook as their new skill, then this is ideal. Every student will undertake all appropriate cookery techniques and skills, in a large, safe kitchen with small groups.

Please note that bookings and payments must be made together in advance by one person who is responsible for being the point of contact.

 

Each Duke of Edinburgh course takes place over a period of 3-12 months For the Duke of Edinburgh option, students must complete days 1 and 2 initially, then complete a set program for two term or up four terms.

We will coach the students with initial background skills in the preparation of easy meals and ingredients.

  • Safe use of a range of equipment
  • Safe and appropriate use of different knives
  • Creative and imaginative table setting
  • Understanding basic nutrition/balanced diets
  • Planning and costing of a balanced menu for a family of 4 for a day –on the need for different foods to be included to give protein/fats/oils/vitamins & minerals/carbohydrates
  • Different techniques for cooking (baking/char grilling/roasting/ frying)
  • Cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment including knife sharpening
  • Correct storage of foods to maintain freshness and avoid cross-contamination
  • Advantages/disadvantages of convenience foods
  • Preparation and cooking of simple recipes
  • Safe and effective outdoor cooking
  • Cooking for Expeditions
  • Vegetarian Cookery including pulses, rice or whole meal foods
  • Related research / use of recipe books and other resources

The complete course must be booked to complete the requirements for the Duke of Edinburgh Skills Section and all parts must be completed to obtain logbook sign off .

Class duration: 1 1/2 hours
